Atlas Mountain Day Trip

Departure from Marrakech

Your day begins with an early morning departure from Marrakech. You’ll be picked up from your accommodation or a designated meeting point by your tour guide or driver.

As you leave Marrakech behind, you’ll traverse the fertile Haouz Plain, dotted with olive groves, fruit orchards, and traditional Berber villages. Enjoy the scenic views of the countryside.

Ourika Valley

Your first major stop is likely to be the Ourika Valley, known for its lush greenery, traditional Berber villages, and the Ourika River. Take a stroll through the valley, visit a local market (if the timing is right), and perhaps explore Setti Fatma, a charming village at the end of the valley known for its waterfalls.

Continuing your journey, you’ll pass through Asni, a small town famous for its vibrant Saturday market. The market is an excellent place to experience the local culture, interact with locals, and perhaps purchase some traditional crafts or souvenirs.

Your day trip may include a stop for lunch at a traditional Berber restaurant with panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains. Enjoy local cuisine while soaking in the natural beauty around you.

Moulay Brahim

This is a picturesque village located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. The area is known for its shrine dedicated to Moulay Brahim, a revered Sufi saint. The panoramic views of the mountains from this point are breathtaking.

Lala Takerkoust Lake

Your final destination might be Lala Takerkoust, a stunning artificial lake surrounded by hills and mountains. It’s a peaceful spot where you can relax, take a boat ride (if available), or simply enjoy the tranquility.

Return to Marrakech

After a day filled with exploration and scenic beauty, you’ll start your journey back to Marrakech in the late afternoon, arriving in the city in the early evening.
